For those joining on a Raja Ampat diving liveaboard safari, whilst on a surface interval between dives at Penemu Island (sometimes called Piyanemo), guests will have the chance to do a delightful land excursion.  This will involve a small walk/hike of roughly 150 steps, but the reward is something to savour – breathtaking panoramic views across the beautiful lagoon and the Halmahera Sea.  This is just one of the many splendors to be enjoyed on a Raja Ampat scuba diving liveaboard cruise! 

Plus on all Komodo liveaboard dive tours, guests will have the wonderful opportunity to make a shore excursion on one of the islands in the Komodo National Park, where they can see Komodo Dragons – the world famous residents of these parts.   • Gaia Love KOMODO Liveaboard Trip Schedule (all tours start and finish in Labuan Bajo, Flores)

    Departs no later than 15.00pm, 1st day from Labuan Bajo, Flores

    Gaia Love do not apply precise pick-up times. However, guests are encouraged to take it upon themselves to arrive before Noon on the departure day – so that we can put in for port clearance early and can get underway and begin diving ASAP! Gratis land transfers from Labuan Bajo Airport/ local Hotels to Labuan Bajo Harbour to the awaiting top class Komodo scuba diving liveaboard Gaia Love are provided on the day of departure.

    Returns 06.00am, last day Labuan Bajo, Flores

    After breakfast, guests are more than welcome to stay on the boat until it is time to leave for the airport - again with precise drop-off times not applied on Gaia Love. Upon saying a final farewell to new dive buddies & the Dive Gaia crew, without cost land transfers are available local Hotels or Labuan Bajo Airport from this high end Flores liveaboard. Last dive ends at 12 Noon on the second-to-last day. This is to ensure flying after diving recommendations, which prescribe a minimum pre-flight surface interval of 18 hours are safely observed. Guests can then enjoy their choice of rest and relaxation activities, while this premier Labuan Bajo diving liveaboard sails back to Flores.

    Day 1 = (1 dive) Guests should arrive before 12 Noon at Labuan Bajo Airport, where one of the Cruise Directors from Gaia Love will meet you & transfer you to the boat. Warm welcome onboard the premium Komodo liveaboard Gaia Love followed by cabin orientation, boat / safety / emergency / deck briefings, equipment & camera set-up and a check dive within the surrounding area. A welcome dinner will be served at 19.30pm and then the Cruise Director will run through trip itinerary. Sail overnight to the Komodo Marine Park.

    Day 2 = (4 dives) Sangeang: This top Indonesia dive site is made up of two active volcanoes, sometimes referred to as the Twin Peaks. Featuring a very interesting mix of black volcanic sands and thriving reefs, Sangeang offers some great Flores macro diving and macro enthusiasts will be in critter heaven. In addition, the striking colours of the healthy, radiant corals against black sand backgrounds - make for some brilliant Indonesia underwater photography opportunities!

    Day 3 = (4 dives) North Komodo: Five star Komodo liveaboard diving at the awesome Shotgun, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock and Golden Passage! Offering thrilling Flores dives amidst sensational reefs – all are absolutely jam-packed with marine life. With chances to do some Komodo shark diving with Whitetip reef sharks, spot truly GIANT travellies, as well as opportunities for Flores Manta Ray dives - Komodo wide-angle underwater photographers will definitely be in their element here! Macro divers can also enjoy some very good Indonesia critter diving with a whole host of weird and wonderful critters. Land excursion for a magical sunset hike (weather allowing). The last dive of the day will be a quality Komodo night dive!

    Day 4 = (4 dives) North Komodo & Rinca: More excellent Flores liveaboard diving, with 2 day dives at North Komodo’s incredible dive sites, followed by a lovely land excursion - with the option of 2 hike durations, where you can spot Komodo dragons and perhaps deer and monkey’s too! After hiking, there will be both an evening dive and a night dive at a popular Flores critter dive site offering outstanding Komodo macro dives with chances to see Picturesque dragonets!

    Day 5 = (4 dives) South Komodo: Truly amazing Indonesia scuba diving with marvelous opportunities for Flores wide-angle & macro photography! Attractions include the prospect of some fabulous Komodo Manta Ray diving, bountiful schooling fish and chances to see Pygmy seahorses & Nudibranchs! Experience a dazzling topography of ridges, drop-offs and seamounts at the likes of Manta Alley, 3 Sisters and Lehoksera Bay. Day ends with some really good Flores night diving!

    Day 6 = (4 dives) Horseshoe Bay: World class Komodo diving at Cannibal Rock, Yellow Wall of Texas, Rodeo Rock and Torpedo Alley, which are acclaimed as having some of the best scuba diving Indonesia has to offer! Enjoy fantastic Komodo critter diving with Pygmy seahorses, Frogfish, Coleman shrimps, Ladybug Amphipods & Nudibranchs! Flores wide-angle photographers will also be spoilt for choice - with dramatic underwater scenery, beautiful perfect reefs cloaked in fish, Torpedo Rays, Turtles and possibilities for bigger subjects too. Excursion to “Dragon Beach”, where you can safely (if you stay on the tender boats!) view wild Komodo Dragons lounging on the beach.

    Day 7 = (4 dives) Padar Island: First class Flores diving awaits at Padar, which is located in-between Komodo & Rinca Islands. Famous for it’s beautiful Pink Beach (made up of white sand mixed with crushed red coral) and underwater seamount, esteemed dive sites here include Pillaarstein, 3 Sisters & Pasir Putih – with the latter famed for its stunning coral reefs. Some top Komodo National Park night diving completes the day.

    Day 8 = (4 dives) Current City: Is all about “location, location, location”, and that mantra definitely applies here - with the dive site primely positioned where currents from the North (Pacific Ocean) meet currents from the South (Indian Ocean). This attracts a wondrous array of marine life, making for some action-packed diving - and as the name suggests, Indonesia liveaboard divers can expect some fast paced, exciting 5 star Komodo scuba diving. Highlights include really cool Flores shark dives with Reef sharks and superb chances to see Manta Rays – an experience which never gets boring! Renowned Komodo dive sites include Batu Balong, Tatawa Besar, Tatawa Kecil and Makassar among others.

    Day 9 = (2 dives) Current City: Final day of diving, with 2 more top class Flores dives, after which the boat will sail to Pulau Kalong. Here guests can enjoy the sunset and watch Indonesia’s flying foxes (large megabats) at dusk.

    Day 10 = (0 dives) 06.00am – lunchtime. After breakfast this Komodo National Park liveaboard safari will have reached its conclusion. However guests can happily stay on the boat, until it is time to leave for the airport. Upon disembarking and conveying a final goodbye to the Dive Gaia crew and other guests, complimentary land transfers are provided to the airport from this luxury Labuan Bajo scuba diving liveaboard.

    Day 1 = (1 dive) Guests should arrive before midday at Sorong Airport, from where one of Gaia Love’s Cruise Directors will meet you and transfer you to the high budget Raja Ampat scuba diving liveaboard Gaia Love. Welcome aboard with the timetable of the afternoon as follows: cabin orientation, boat/safety/emergency/deck briefings, equipment & camera set-up – followed by a check dive in the vicinity of Sorong Harbour. There will be a welcome dinner at 19.30pm, after which the Cruise Director will run through the trip itinerary. Cruise overnight to Raja Ampat.

    Day 2 = (4 dives) South Raja Ampat – Misool (Daram/Yelliet): Five star West Papua liveaboard diving at the likes of Candy Store, Andiamo, Warna Berwarna & Yelliet Keccil. The spectacular reefs and abundance of marine life here are a dream for Indonesia wide angle photographers and also offer fantastic Raja Ampat macro diving with chances to see Pygmy seahorses, Nudibranchs, Boxer crabs, etc. All this will be followed by some amazing Misool night diving!

    Day 3 = (4 dives) South Raja Ampat – Misool (Boo/Fiabacet): More excellent 4 Kings liveaboard diving including the famous Boo Windows (a favourite place for Indonesia underwater photography), Nudi Rock (Raja Ampat Nudibranch heaven), Tank Rock & Whale Rock. Featuring picturesque topographies, with beautiful hard & soft corals - all have more fish than you can shake a stick at! There are also wonderful opportunities for Misool shark diving with Wobbegong sharks and Reef sharks, as well as superb West Papua macro dives with Pygmy seahorses & Frogfish!

    Day 4 = (4 dives) South Raja Ampat – Misool (Warakaraket/Wayil): World class Indonesia liveaboard diving, with a breathtaking underwater landscape of drop-offs, seamounts and ridges, richly adorned with schools of fish & gorgeous giant gorgonian sea fans! Raja Ampat Manta Ray dives are a real possibility here too, with the chance to dive with oceanic & reef Mantas! An awesome place for some incredible West Papua wide-angle underwater photography!

    Day 5 = (3-4 dives) South Raja Ampat – Misool (Dive Gaia will either dive at the Blue Water Mangrove OR Balbullol):

    Raja Ampat’s Blue Water Mangroves: Although there are many mangroves around the world, very few can offer a mangrove environment in clear water. Raja Ampat’s Blue Water Mangroves are uniquely different as they feature crystal clear waters! These wonders just off Misool, provide shelter for many juvenile & adult animals, as well as anchorage for a variety of multicoloured dendronephya soft corals that flourish on the submerged umbrella shaped roots of the mangrove trees just beneath the surface. In addition to the stunning soft corals, there are also sea grass beds & healthy shallow coral reefs, all against white sandy bottoms – making for some outstanding Raja Ampat underwater photography opportunities!

    Balbullol: Top class 4 Kings scuba diving can be enjoyed at this archipelago off the south-east corner of Misool. Magical dive sites here include No Contest, Love Potion #9 and Two Tree Island. Underwater Misool divers can expect to find healthy, vibrant hard and soft corals and bountiful schools of fish. Topside, the scenery at Balbullol is nothing short of spectacular, with this collection of karst islands and rock formations all dramatically rising up from the surrounding calm turquoise blue waters, which offers broad sweeping views of a seemingly endless number of lagoons, islets, coves and bays.

    Day 6 = (4 dives) North Raja Ampat – West Waigeo/Penemu: Current & visibility permitting - West Weigeo presents Indonesia liveaboard divers with some of the best scuba diving West Papua has to offer, with a a kaleidoscope of colours and copious schools of fish. Popular dive sites include Mayhem and Citrus Ridge – with the latter certainly one of the best Raja Ampat dive sites in terms of beauty, with its “citrus” reef & much of the ridge brilliantly covered in orange, purple, pink, yellow and green soft corals. Penemu Island showcasing its never-ending corals, houses the 4 Kings largest hard coral garden reef. Widely known dive sites here include the renowned Melissa’s Garden, Kerou Channel & Harto’s Reef. Land excursion to Penemu viewpoint.

    Day 7 = (4 dives) North Raja Ampat – Kawe/Aljui: Kawe is famous for its superabundant schools of marine life and due to sitting right across from the equator, its on the manta migration path - making it a very good place for West Papua Manta Ray diving! Indonesia macro divers will not be disappointed either, with weird and wonderful Nudibranches, Winged pipefish & Dragonets residents of the island too! Offering 5 star critter diving Aljui Bay is a favourite dive site for 4 Kings divers, and depending on the pearl farms schedule - it may be possible to dive under the pearl farm jetty. Famed for it’s exotic critters, there is a chance to maybe see Blue-ring octopus here. The day will end with some quality Raja Ampat night diving.

    Day 8 = (4 dives) North Raja Ampat – Wayag: Perhaps one of the most widely photographed places - Wayag has become an icon of Raja Ampat, with its myriad of wonderus mushroom shaped islands protruding from the sea and beautiful atolls. Beneath the sapphire/turquoise waters, West Papua divers will be treated to dramatic underwater scenery consisting of fabulous overhangs, boulders & bommies, elegantly decorated with pretty purple soft corals – all of which are enshrouded by swarms of Anthias, with schools of Surgeonfish and Fusiliers whizzing by. Land excursion with a steep climb to the magnificent Mount Pindito.

    Days 9 & 10 = (8 dives) Dampier Strait: Named after British navigator William Dampier - The Dampier Strait separates the 4 Kings islands of Batanta and Waigeo. The Indonesian Throughflow is squeezed through this narrow passage of water causing strong currents, which in turn carries plankton into the strait, enchanting immense numbers of schooling fish to the area, as well as attracting larger predators! The end result is some of the very best Raja Ampat diving, with truly world class 4 Kings dive sites including Cape Kri, Mioskon, Blue Magic, Arborek Jetty, West Mansuar, Manta Ridge and Manta Sandy. Indonesia scuba divers will be utterly captivated by the profusion of fish, chances to spot turtles, dive with sharks (Reef sharks & Wobbegongs), discover unusual Frogfish & Nudibranchs and last, but not least see Manta Rays! WOW!

    Day 11 = (2 dives) Dampier Strait: Final diving day, with two more top West Papua dives before sailing back to Sorong.

    Day 12 = (0 dives) 06.00am – lunchtime. After breakfast it will be time to disembark, but guests can stay on Gaia Love until it’s time to head to the airport. Upon disembarking and saying ciao to new dive buddies and the crew, gratis land transfers are included from this high class Sorong scuba diving liveaboard to the airport.

At 19.30pm a nice welcome dinner will be served, followed by an overview of the trip itinerary by the Cruise Director. Overnight cruise to the 4 Kings.

    Day 2 = (4 dives) South Raja Ampat – Misool (Daram/Yelliet): World Class Raja Ampat liveaboard diving at Yelliet Keccil, Warna Berwarna Andiamo & Candy Store. With their sheer amount of marine life and sensational reefs, these top Misool dive sites present terrific opportunities for Indonesia wide-angle underwater photography. Some great 4 Kings macro dives can also be enjoyed here too - with chances to spot Pygmy seahorses, Nudibranchs & Boxer crabs. The day ends with a splendid Misool night dive.

    Day 3 = (4 dives) South Raja Ampat – Misool (Boo/Fiabacet): 5-star West Papua scuba diving including the likes of Boo Windows (a firm favourite with Raja Ampat underwater photographers due to it’s very photogenic underwater scenery), Whale Rock, Tank Rock and Nudi Rock (one of the best Indonesia dive sites for Nudibranchs). Showcasing magnificent topographies overflowing with fish and richly decorated with stunning soft & hard corals. Opportunities for 4 Kings shark dives present themselves here, with chances to see Wobbegongs sharks as well as Reef sharks. Those interested in “small stuff” will also enjoy excellent Misool macro diving with Frogfish and Pygmy seahorses!

    Day 4 = (4 dives) South Raja Ampat – Misool (Warakaraket/Wayil): More first class Indonesia liveaboard diving and a marvelous place for some spectacular Raja Ampat wide-angle underwater photography! Amidst the striking & impressive scenery of ridges, drop-offs & seamounts carpeted with lovely giant gorgonian sea fans and cloaked with schooling fish – it is sometimes possible to see Manta Rays and do some 4 Kings Manta Ray diving with reef / oceanic Mantas here!

    Day 5 = (4 dives) South Raja Ampat – Misool (Balbullol): Amazing West Papua liveaboard diving awaits at this group of majestic islands off Misool’s south-east corner. The first thing Misool scuba divers will experience here is the breathtaking scenery, which is made up of karst islands and remarkable rock formations soaring upwards from turquoise blue waters, which reveal a countless number of picturesque islets, lagoons, bays and coves. Beneath these dramatic lagoons are perfect, brightly coloured soft & hard corals, which are home to copious schools & varieties of fish. Popular dive sites here include Love Potion #9, Two Tree Island and No Contest.

    Day 6 = (4 dives) North Raja Ampat – West Waigeo/Penemu: West Waigeo offers some of the best Raja Ampat scuba diving available (visibility and current dependent), with immense schools of fish enveloping vibrantly coloured reefs. Fantastic 4 Kings dive sites here include Mayhem, and the aptly named Citrus Ridge – with its absolutely exquisite orange, yellow, pink, green and purple soft corals covering the reef like a citrus coloured carpet. Penumu is famous for its wonderful hard corals and is the home of Raja Ampat’s largest hard coral garden reef. Renowned West Papau dive sites here include the famed Melissa’s Garden, Harto’s Reef and Kerou Channel. Land excursion to Penemu look-out.

    Day 7 = (4 dives) Dampier Strait: Five star Indonesia scuba diving lies in wait for 4 Kings divers at the Dampier Strait. Named after the British navigator William Dampier, The Dampier Strait is the stretch of water, which separates the islands Batanta and Waigeo. The Indonesian Throughflow (ITF) is squeezed through this narrow channel (which can make for strong currents here), carrying with it an abundance of plankton into the strait. This entices vast numbers of schooling fish to the area, which in turn also lures in larger predators! The outcome of all this, is truly world class West Papua diving, with the top Damper Strait dive sites Manta Sandy, Manta Ridge, West Mansuar, Arborek Jetty, Blue Magic, Mioskon and Cape Kri just some of the underwater wonders on offer here! Raja Ampat divers will be totally enthralled, with superb opportunities for both West Papua Manta Ray dives & shark diving with Reef sharks & Wobbegongs, chances to see Turtles, as well as stumble upon weird and wonderful Nudibranchs and Frogfish. Coupled with this, is an abundance of fish, which is hard to rival anywhere on earth! Simply out of this world!

    Day 8 = (2 dives) Dampier Strait: Last diving day, with two more great Dampier Strait dives before cruising back to Sorong. Day 9 = (0 dives) 06.00am – lunchtime. Following breakfast it will be sadly time to disembark, but guests are welcome to hang about on Gaia Love until it’s time to depart to the airport. Upon disembarking and saying a fond farewell to the crew on Dive Gaia and fellow passengers, free land transfers are provided from this boutique Sorong liveaboard to the airport.

All Gaia Love boutique Indonesia liveaboard cruises are inclusive of all dives, accommodation, all meals, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, toiletries, towels, cabin housekeeping, land excursions during the trip, professional dive guides (4:1 ratio), 12 litre air tanks ONLY and weight belt & weights.

ALL flights, Airport Taxes, Visa On Arrival Fees (US$35), any land transfers NOT on the day of departure/arrival, *Any Fuel Surcharges (in the event of sudden & stable significant fuel hikes, Dive Gaia seeks the kind understanding of guests and may impose a reasonable fuel surcharge accordingly), Marine Park and Harbour Fees (varies according to the Indonesia scuba diving liveaboard destination & tour duration), Insurance (compulsory & please note that NO insurance - Dive, Repatriation, Evacuation or Hyperbaric Insurance is included), Trip Cancellation Insurance (highly recommended) and any dive courses. Please note that ALL prices onboard are payable in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) only and are as follows: equipment rental (Rp 800,000 PER day), dive computers (highly recommended) (Rp 192,000 PER day), torch (Rp 192,000 PER day), 15 litre tanks (Rp 192,000 PER day), Nitrox (Rp 160,000 PER day), all alcoholic beverages (local beer is Rp 64,000 per can, local house wine is Rp 322,000 per bottle, a corkage fee of Rp 224,000 per bottle for any BYO), onboard telecommunication & satellite broadband (satellite access is Rp 160,000 PER day).

  • COVID-19 Indonesia Travel Information

    From the 10th of June 2023 onwards – visitors are no longer required to provide any proof of vaccination for international arrivals and domestic travel within Indonesia.

    Additionally, the Indonesian Government has also extended Visa On Arrival (VOA) to 86 Nationalities who are eligible to enter Indonesia without a visa for up to 30 days, as well as the Visa Exemption Arrangement (VEA) to more ASEAN members. For a complete list of countries and special entities for VOA and VEP please double check with your local Embassy of Indonesia.

    Citizens from Countries/Territories NOT on these lists must apply for and be granted an eVISA (B211A) online BEFORE flying to Indonesia.

    Please Note: Pre travel to Indonesia post COVID-19 – ALL visitors MUST:

    1. Have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months, that it is in good order, has enough available pages and that you are allowed to enter Indonesia. Please check with your local Indonesia Embassy if you are not sure.

    2. Have proof (paper based AND digital) of a return ticket OR a one-way ticket to continue your journey to another country for (VOA & eVISA holders).

    The above conditions are subject to change / amendment to change at short notice. All visitors are personally responsible for ensuring that they follow the latest Indonesian rules & regulations regarding entry and Indonesia Visa requirements.

    If you are unsure of your entry and Indonesia Visa requirements – then please double check with your local Embassy of Indonesia.

    Please note:

    *Fuel Surcharges. At present, there are currently no fuel surcharges - however this is always subject to change. If in the event that there should be a sudden & stable significant hike in the price of fuel – Dive Gaia would seek the kind understanding of guests that there may be the need to impose a reasonable fuel surcharge accordingly. If a fuel surcharge is applicable - Dive Gaia will inform all guests at least 30 days prior to the trip departure.

    Scuba Diving Insurance (covering the cost of repatriation, evacuation & hyperbaric) is mandatory for ALL Indonesia dive liveaboard trips on Gaia Love.

    Although Travel Insurance and Trip Cancellation Insurance are presently not compulsory (subject to change) - we would highly recommend that you obtain a comprehensive policy covering travel, medical, dive, accident, repatriation, evacuation, hyperbaric and trip cancellation insurance for all Gaia Love diving liveaboard safaris. If you have neither diving insurance or comprehensive travel insurance, then you MUST obtain your own comprehensive scuba diving insurance (covering the cost of repatriation, evacuation & hyperbaric) PRIOR to joining any Indonesia liveaboard cruise. It is also highly advised that you also purchase trip cancellation /interruption/ travel insurance for all Gaia Love liveaboard dive tours.

    Dive Computers & Surface Marker Buoys (SMB’s) are compulsory for your safety on ALL Gaia Love Indonesia diving liveaboard trips.

    For all Gaia Love liveaboard diving safaris, it is strongly advised that guests spend one night at the international airport arrival destination or port of embarkation/disembarkation BEFORE and AFTER the trip - in case of any unforeseeable flight/luggage delays or flight cancellations.
