Cabins

On her business class Indonesia diving liveaboard cruises – Mermaid II pleasantly sleeps 20 divers in 8 deluxe ensuite cabins and 2 budget semi-ensuite cabins.  The deluxe double/twin rooms are all located on the main deck, and are configured with removable single beds, which allows for a more spacious cabin for couples wanting a double bed or single guests on a private occupancy basis.  Each deluxe cabin has large panoramic windows offering amazing sea views and features its own private ensuite bathroom with hot water shower, toilet & sink.  The budget twin rooms are both situated on the lower deck - with two single beds in bunk bed formation and in-room sink.  The bathrooms though are semi-private and are shared with one other cabin through adjoining doors.  All guest cabins have individual air-conditioning, storage space, smoke alarms & quality bedding – all making for a super comfortable Indonesia scuba diving liveaboard safari on Mermaid II!

Onboard facilities

From May 2024 Starlink satellite service is available onboard - enabling guests to stay in touch with loved ones & work remotely. Other guest services onboard this good value Indonesia diving liveaboard include a Nitrox compressor for those who wish to do some Nitrox liveaboard diving (additional charge applies), free torches, surface marker buoys and 15 litre tanks (subject to availability). Clean, fresh bath towels are provided daily, with hair-dryers, complimentary toiletries and beach towels supplied too. Mermaid II also has fresh water rinse tanks and large camera tables on the dive deck to accommodate Indonesia digital underwater photographers – all of which should help to make this the best Indonesia scuba diving liveaboard cruise experience!

 

Itineraries

Mermaid II presents her guests the opportunity via Indonesia liveaboard dive boat to experience the 5 star world-class dive sites Indonesia has to offer. Guests can choose from four of the best Indonesia scuba diving liveaboard itineraries around!

Raja Ampat liveaboard diving is available from December to April and Komodo liveaboard dive safaris from May to November.  There are also a couple of Banda Sea liveaboard diving cruises each February, as well as a few longer Biodiversity Super Special Indonesia diving liveaboard tours during the year.

During all Komodo diving liveaboard trips there will also be time for guests to visit Loh Liang Komodo National Park and do some mini trekking and spot Indonesia’s famous Komodo Dragons!

  • Mermaid II BALI - KOMODO Liveaboard Trip Schedule (all dive cruises start and finish Benoa Harbour, Bali)

    Departs approx 16.00pm, 1st day from Benoa Harbour, Bali

    Complimentary land transfers ONLY from Guest Hotels in Kuta, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Benoa and Seminyak and Denpasar International Airport (DPS) to the high-class Bali liveaboard Mermaid II are provided on the day of departure.

    After breakfast onboard and after saying good-bye to new dive buddies and the crew, complimentary transfers are provided from this premier Komodo scuba diving liveaboard to Kuta, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Benoa and Seminyak Hotels if staying on in Bali OR to Denpasar International Airport (DPS) to catch your flight home.

    Last dive ends early afternoon on the second-to-last day

    This allows the minimum pre-flight surface interval of 18 hours before flying after diving the next day. Guests can then spend the day relaxing and chilling out on this mid-range luxury Bali diving liveaboard.

    Day 1 = (0 dives) 13.00 - 15.00pm check in onboard the top class Komodo liveaboard Mermaid II, safety and boat briefing, equipment assembly & cabin allocation. Dinner is served at approx 19.00pm, while this high quality Bali scuba diving liveaboard sails into the sunset for an overnight cruise to Moyo island, North-West Sumbawa.

    Day 2 = (3 dives) Dive 1 at Angel Reef where you can see Frogfish, Nudibranchs & Dog tooth tunas, followed by a visit to a local village on Moyo Island. Dive 2 at Panjang Reef to hopefully see Pygmy seahorses. Dive 3 offers some excellent Indonesia night diving at Satonda Island, before sailing overnight to Sangeang Island.

    Day 3 = (4 dives) 2 dives at the photogenic Sangeang Island, with its underwater hot springs & volcanic black sands providing the background for Indonesia Pygmy seahorse dives with rare Nudibranchs - before sailing onto Gili Banta for a dive at either Tanduk Rusa (amazing corals & big fish) OR GPS Point (Pelagics & Sharks). Night diving Komodo at Gili Darat South Passage with Spanish dancers, Stonefish & maybe even sleeping Turtles!

    Day 4 = (4 dives) Five star Indonesia liveaboard diving, with dive 1 at Taka Toko, Gili Lawa Laut for hopefully some Komodo shark diving with Grey reef sharks! Dive 2 at Lighthouse Reef/Old Passage, for some drift diving Komodo with fast currents, where with lady luck you can dive with Manta Rays and Pelagics. Dive 3 at Crystal Rock, with chances to see Sharks & Napoleon wrasse. Quality Komodo night diving at Pink Beach.

    Day 5 = (3 dives) Island visit on Komodo National Park to see the famous Komodo dragons before sailing onto Rinja Island. First class Flores diving - with 2 magical dives at Cannibal Rock, with its stunning corals and perhaps the best Komodo macro diving with Frogfish, Nudibranchs, Rhinopias & Pygmy seahorses, as well as Turtles & Cuttlefish! Spot wildlife such as dragons, monkeys, wild pigs on the shore & if you are very lucky - maybe even Dolphins or Whales in the bay! Night dive.

    Day 6= (4 dives) World class Komodo diving! Dive 1 at Padar Island for Nudibranchs & Sharks. Dive 2 at either Manta Alley or Takat Makassar for some awesome Indonesia Manta Ray dives!! Dive 3 at either Tatawa Kecil or Batu Bolung (depending on the currents) for some thrilling Komodo drift diving with Sharks, Napoleon wrasse, Blue-fin trevally & more! Five star Flores night diving at Gili Banta to hopefully see Coral catsharks before cruising overnight to Satonda Island.

    Day 7 = (2 dives) At Satonda and Moyo Islands to finish with some top Indonesia diving with hopefully Ribbon eels, Ghost pipefish, Cuttlefish and Turtles before cruising overnight to Benoa, South Bali.

    Day 8 = (0 dives) 08.00am - After breakfast and after saying bye to each other and the crew - complimentary transfers are provided from this luxury Komodo diving liveaboard to Hotels in South Bali OR to Denpasar International Airport (DPS).

    Land transfers are provided free of charge on the day of departure from Sorong Airport/Sorong Hotels to the one of the best Sorong liveaboards around - Mermaid II.

    Returns 08.00am, last day Sorong Harbour, West Papua

    After breakfast and saying goodbye new friends and the crew onboard this business class Raja Ampat liveaboard, complimentary transfers are provided to Sorong Hotels for those continuing their Indonesia diving vacation in Sorong OR to Sorong Airport if heading home.

    Day 1 = (0 dives) Guests are free to board the medium budget Raja Ampat diving liveaboard Mermaid II anytime between 07.00am and 14.00pm - due to flight arrivals throughout the day. Once everyone is onboard, and the boat & safety briefings have been completed this high-end Sorong scuba diving liveaboard - will set sail for an overnight journey to Misool. Please kindly note that due to there being world class Raja Ampat scuba diving everywhere and the countless number of dive sites – putting together a daily dive itinerary is almost impossible. The following is therefore a sample itinerary only……

    Day 2 - 4 (12 dives) Five star Raja Ampat liveaboard diving around Misool at Sagof, Wagma & Farondi Islands, Wailbatan and Warakaret Island, Kalig and Pele Islands. Truly beautiful corals, the kingdom of Pygmy seahorses, blue water mangroves, pinnacles, and more species of tropical fish than anywhere else on planet earth!

    Day 5 - 7 (12 dives) Are spent diving at some of the following top class Raja Ampat dive sites……Fiabacet and Farondi Islands - with a chance for sightseeing around the beautiful lagoons here, before sailing further north to Waigeo Island, where Four Kings liveaboard divers will enjoy even more of the wicked diving Raja Ampat has in super abundance! Batanta Island – with its black sands for some really good “West Papua muck diving”. Dampier Strait – a really cool place for hopefully some Raja Ampat Manta Ray dives and Indonesia macro diving, where you can see Pontohi Pygmy seahorses and Pipefish! Arborek – a small island offering high quality Raja Ampat macro dives with Pygmy seahorses, Signal gobies and Nudibranch. Kawe Island and the pearls at Alyui Bay, which offers simply world class Indonesia night diving – with chances to see Wobbegongs, Toadfish, Frogfish and the Epaulette shark! Yanggefo Island for some 5 star Raja Ampat diving with thousands of fish in all shapes & sizes among stunning soft corals.

    Day 8 = (2 dives) At the Strait of Dampier, before chilling out on the journey back to Sorong.

    Day 9 = (0 dives) 08.00am - After breakfast and after saying ciao to the other guests & the crew - transfers from this high class Sorong liveaboard are provided free of charge to either Hotels in Sorong if continuing your Raja Ampat diving holiday OR Sorong Airport for the journey home.

For example: for Raja Ampat liveaboard cruises currently 250 EURO, Komodo scuba diving liveaboard tours currently 200 EURO (all subject to change). Scuba Diving Insurance (compulsory) and Travel Insurance (strongly recommended), massage services, alcoholic beverages, equipment rental, dive computers (compulsory), Nitrox (6 EURO per fill, but Nitrox liveaboard diving package prices are available so please ask).

  • COVID-19 Indonesia Travel Information

    From the 10th of June 2023 onwards – visitors are no longer required to provide any proof of vaccination for international arrivals and domestic travel within Indonesia.

    Additionally, the Indonesian Government has also extended Visa On Arrival (VOA) to 86 Nationalities who are eligible to enter Indonesia without a visa for up to 30 days, as well as the Visa Exemption Arrangement (VEA) to more ASEAN members. For a complete list of countries and special entities for VOA and VEP please double check with your local Embassy of Indonesia.

    Citizens from Countries/Territories NOT on these lists must apply for and be granted an eVISA (B211A) online BEFORE flying to Indonesia.

    Please Note: Pre travel to Indonesia post COVID-19 – ALL visitors MUST:

    1. Have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months, that it is in good order, has enough available pages and that you are allowed to enter Indonesia. Please check with your local Indonesia Embassy if you are not sure.

    2. Have proof (paper based AND digital) of a return ticket OR a one-way ticket to continue your journey to another country for (VOA & eVISA holders).

    Please note:

    *Fuel Surcharges. Due to rising fuel costs - effective for ALL trips in 2024, Mermaid I and II are obliged to add on a fuel surcharge of EUROs 20 PER day for all guests, groups and private charters. However, this fuel surcharge has been removed from 2025.

    *Mermaid Liveaboards reserve the right to reinstate a fuel surcharge at any time dependent on global fuel price increases.

    Scuba Diving Insurance is compulsory for ALL Mermaid II liveaboard diving safaris. We would also strongly recommend that you obtain comprehensive travel insurance. If you have neither comprehensive travel insurance or diving insurance then you MUST look at obtaining your own comprehensive scuba dive, accident, medical, baggage and trip cancellation/interruption insurance prior to joining an Indonesia scuba diving liveaboard trip.

    Dive computers are for your safety compulsory on ALL Mermaid II diving liveaboard cruises. If you do not have your own dive computer, then one can be rented onboard for 10 EUROs per day.

    PADI diving courses are available onboard all Indonesia liveaboard tours, and guests can do EANX Nitrox, Advanced Open Water, as well as the Specialty Courses: Deep Diver, Night Diver, Digital Underwater Photographer, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drift Diver and Underwater Naturalist during all Indo diving liveaboard safaris.

    For Raja Ampat scuba diving liveaboard trips, we strongly recommend that guests spend one night in a local hotel in Jakarta/Makassar/Manado before their flight next day – in case of unforeseeable flight/luggage delays.

    For all Komodo diving liveaboards, we would also highly recommended that guests spend one night in Bali BEFORE the trip – in case of unforeseeable flight/luggage delays.

    Generally for all Mermaid liveaboard tours, it is highly advised that guests spend one night at the international airport arrival destination or port of embarkation/disembarkation BEFORE and AFTER the trip - in case of any unforeseeable flight/luggage delays or flight cancellations.
